Gabriela Valdovinos As a new SCLARC board member, Gabriela Valdovinos' goal is to help educate parents of children with developmental disabilities about their options and opportunities within the system.
	"I think that a lack of education and involvement has a negative impact on children diagnosed with a developmental disability. The more you know and are involved with regional center, the more you are able you to advocate and help your child," said Valdovinos. Her son Joseph is a South Central L. A. Regional Center consumer who has a diagnosis of autism. Working with regional center staff has helped Gabby, as she is known to family and friends, become empowered and further hone her management skills. For the last 15 years, Valdovinos has been the office manager of two very successful and busy orthodontic offices where she manages a staff of 25. With great interpersonal and people skills as well as a penchant for administration and management, Valdovinos pledges to use her leadership and communication skills to help SCLARC accomplish its short and long term goals.
