(SCLARC) is a private, non-profit, community based organization which contracts with the State Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Administration Department

Receptionist/Secretary II
Salary up to $30,766 annually (depending on experience)
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or four years of related experience and/or training including public contact; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to type 35-45 wpm; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The Receptionist will perform varied and specialized tasks including typing, filing and telephone coverage. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Greet visitors, ascertains nature of business, and directs visitors to employees or appropriate person, receives and directs agency calls for authorized personnel. The Receptionist is responsible for telephone communication operations as it relates to the terminal, reading and routing incoming mail, locating and attaching appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer, composing and typing routine correspondence, filing correspondence and other records, compiling and typing statistical reports, translating agency material to include attendance at board-related meetings per request, and making copies. Salary up to $50,430 annually (depending on experience)

Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS/BSW or MA/MS/MSW degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Special Education or related field required plus two years of professional experience working with developmentally disabled consumers.  Case management experience required to provide services to special needs population.  Qualified candidates must have good client interview skills, assessment skills, and excellent interpersonal skills, and be available to make community contacts.  Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Secretary II
3 Positions – 2 Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Salary up to $30,771 annually (depending on experience)

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and four years of responsible clerical experience.  Qualified candidates must be proficient in computer applications including word, excel, desktop publishing, power point, mail merge, and typing.  Individuals must have the ability to perform a variety of general office duties, be a proficient speller and task oriented.  Secretary II must have good English-grammar, good organization skills, oral and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.  Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm.

Consumer and Program Services Department

PHN/Medicaid Waiver Coordinator
Salary up to $62,729 annually (depending on experience)

Minimum qualifications include a Registered Nurse license, State of California Public Health Nursing Certificate and a valid California Drivers License. Bacheloršs degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; plus three years related experience or training in Public Health Nursing or working with persons with developmental disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Public Health Nurse/Medicaid Waiver Coordinator coordinates Medicaid Waiver activities; reviews records for Medicaid Waiver certification and recertification; accurately completes all Medicaid Waiver forms and submits forms to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in a timely manner. Consults with Case managers and makes on-site visits when necessary; keeps abreast of consumeršs status changes, prepares and forwards necessary forms to the DDS on an as needed basis; provides in-service training to staff; participates in Medicaid Waiver audits and reviews; serves as a consultant to other professional staff by assessing the developmental health needs of persons with developmental disabilities; provides consultation to other professionals or agencies requiring assistance and to providers of care; completes nursing reports and maintains progress notes; participates in community education programs; other duties as assigned.

Public Health Nurse
2 Positions
Salary up to $61,200 annually (depending on experience)

B. A. degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university; a Public Health Nurse certificate;  valid Calif. R. N. License; excellent interpersonal skills; and a valid California Driver’s License.  Public health nurses provide consultation and assessments; participate in program planning; and provide ongoing health-care education to consumers, families, providers and the community.  Acts as a liaison with community health agencies.

Autism Clinical Specialist
Salary up to $58,833 annually (depending on experience)

Minimum qualifications include a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and 4 years of experience in working with people diagnosed with ASD; or a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, social work or related field and at least 6 years of experience working with people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.  Must possess good oral and written skills and a valid California Driver's License as well as a license in the respective discipline, i.e., psychologist, MFT or LCSW.

The Autism Spectrum Disorder Trainer Coordinates a series of 8 sessions 3 times a year offering training and support to parent groups for consumers diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); provides short-term counseling for persons with ASD who would benefit from such services and their families; make appropriate referrals to generic agencies; provide updated information, resources and news articles regarding mental health and behavioral intervention for care providers, consumers and families on ASD; identify and update resources on ASD in the community; provide other related services as requested; coordinate and provide in-service training to regional center staff on issues related to ASD; may be asked to participate in Fair Hearings; complete a needs assessment and identify resource needs; develop agency resource material; collaborate and participate on community groups; provide a detailed monthly report.

Quality Assurance Specialist - Community Services - deadline to apply: December 3, 2008
Salary up to $5
2,613 annually (depending on experience)

The quality assurance specialist will facilitate quality assurance activities for vendored programs and intermediate care facilities. Duties include making annual program/facility monitoring visits and leading the team conducting residential facility triennial quality assurance evaluations. The specialist will also investigate complaints and allegations of abuse, and complete Special Incident Report (SIR) follow-up activities. Coordinate the residential facility service level upgrade review process, ensuring compliance with Title 17 timeliness. The individual will provide one-on-one and small group technical assistance training and periodically provide information about the regional center to community groups. Maintain updated regional center vendor files, ensuring that each contains current program design, business license, insurance, W-9 tax forms rate agreement and contract. Attend interagency meetings including those held by Community Care Licensing, County Department of Mental Health, County Department of Children and Family Services, and the Southern California Regional Center Resource Development/Quality Assurance Group. Periodically give presentations to community groups regarding the developmental disability service system, the regional center, and the services and supports provided to consumers and their families.

Master's degree from an accredited university in the human services field, one to two years experience in the field of developmental disabilities and a valid California driver's license. Experience teaching of facilitating training sessions is preferred and two years Regional Center service coordination experience preferred. The candidate should have excellent communications skills (verbal and written), and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.

Service Coordinator - Early Start Unit

Family Resource Center Coordinator - Early Start
Salary
up to $29,416 Annually (Depending on experience)

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience working in a human services agency or an A.A. from an accredited college or university and one (1) year related experience in a human services agency. Experience working with individuals in the field of developmental disabilities preferred. An applicant who is a parent of a child with a developmental disability or a child who is at risk of a disability is desirable. The FRC Coordinator coordinates activities and programs for the Early Start Family Resource Center; provides support to staff and functions as a liaison to parents; performs a variety of coordination, clerical, record keeping, data entry, and communications functions; receives and directs all telephone calls and referrals, and maintains all documentation associated with its activity; maintains and acquires updated FRC information and materials as well as updates database on all resource center information; greets visitors and assists them with accessing materials and resources offered by the Early Start FRC; schedules, organizes, and facilitates events, training sessions, volunteer activities, etc.; participates in meetings at the request of manager, staff or parents; performs telephone and agency/outreach. Other duties may be assigned.
