James Ferguson Jr.
James Ferguson, Jr. comes to the regional center with more than 10 years of human resources experience. Prior to accepting the top HR spot with SCLARC, he was the Zone Employee Development Manager for the San Fernando/Central California Region of Nestle Foods International. In this position, James was responsible for Human Resource Generalist activities which required him to manage the Workers Comp, Product Liability and Safety-OSHA programs for the food conglomerate.
As SCLARC's Human REsources Manager, he will employ his HR skills in order to foster better employee relations, promote more positive attitudes toward company goals, enhance SCLARC's performance appraisal system, have oversight of staff and stakeholder training as well as actively engage in recruitment. He will also analyze existing benefit programs and make recommendations for improvement.
During his very successful career, James Ferguson has been an assistant teacher in Peekskill, New Your, the Physical Director for the United Way-Boys Club in Virginia Beach, VA., a Sales Representative for Coca Cola USA in Portsmouth, Va., and a top manager for McDonald's corporation. No stranger to social services organizations. SCLARC's newest manager was the Vocational Manager at the Foundation for the Junior Blind and also had a productive tenure with SCLARC as a Community Integration Specialist and transportation coordinator. Mr. Ferguson holds a Bachelors degree in Education from Norfolk State University.
