Dr. Kim Bowie Dr. Kim Bowie serves as the Chief of the Community Services Division. In this role, she provided oversight to three major areas in the regional center: training, resource development and quality assurance. Dr. Bowie joined South Central L. A. Regional Center (SCLARC) in 1999 as the manager of Training and Development. Prior to taking on the role of Chief of Community Services, she was the program manager of quality assurance also in the Community Services Division. |

Before coming to the agency, Ms. Bowie was a resource developer at San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center where she helped to facilitate the certification of clinical, fiscal and administrative qualifications for a variety of independent contractors who provided lifestyle support to persons with developmental disabilities. During her tenure at San Gabriel/Pomona, she also worked as a service coordinator. As the Chief of Community Services, Dr. Bowie attends and participates in meetings of the board of directors, assists the executive management team in the development of administrative policies regarding legislative regulations activities and contractual mandates and coordinates inter/intra agency activities specific to program development, resources and utilization of services. She will also help to establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and organizations in the community that SCLARC serves in order to assist the center with the implementation of the highest standards of service delivery for persons with developmental disabilities. In addition to those functions, Dr. Bowie will assist SCLARC with various fund raising and public relations including speaking engagements and oversight of the publishing of a vendor-related newsletter. Kim Bowie holds a doctorate
degree in Public Administration from the University of La Verne, a
master's of Public Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills and
a bachelor's of Science in Health Science from Cal State Northridge. |
