Reuben Lee

As the Director of the Department of Children and Adult Services (DCAS), Reuben Lee heads a department of 110 SCLARC employees who are responsible for the on-going case management of more that 7,300 consumers and their families. Mr. Lee has been with SCLARC since February 1987 and has held several positions including service coordinator, placement specialist, senior service coordinator, and program manager.






As the assistant director of the DCAS, Mr. Lee was very effective in the administrative/operational aspects of the department. He supervised staff, coordinated special projects and played a part in recruitment. He also oversaw the training new staff members, provided input to the consumer services department's ad hoc committees and inter/intra-departmental meetings. Lastly, He participated in quality assurance, funding and service compliance reviews.

Today, he leads the lion's share of the agency's staff by providing reports and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with mandated federal and state standards in addition to serving as a point of contact for an external federal audit and the review of and compliance with purchase of service standards to ensure continuity and consistency of services, and participation in select Interdisciplinary Review Teams, ad hoc committees and other duties as assigned.

Reuben Lee has a bachelor's degree in Social Rehabilitation from Talladega College in Alabama, and a master's degree in Special Education from California State University, Los Angeles.
